Ripple Labs has joined the Digital Euro Conference 2024 (#DEC24) as a gold sponsor, according to an announcement via X (formerly Twitter) by the Digital Euro Association (DEA). The DEA expressed enthusiasm for Ripple’s involvement, stating, “We are happy to have Ripple on board as a gold sponsor for the Digital Euro Conference (#DEC24)! Join us on February 29, 2024, and meet the leading experts in the industry.”

This partnership places the fintech company alongside Ernst & Young, one of the “Big 4” and a major player in global auditing, as the only gold sponsors of the event. Ripple’s commitment to the event is further underscored by the participation of Anthony Ralphs, their Lead Product Manager for Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC), who spoke at last year’s conference.

Ripple Joins The Digital Euro Conference 2024

Scheduled for February 29, 2024, at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, the conference will delve into various aspects of digital money, including CBDCs, stablecoins, and commercial bank money tokens (CBMTs). It aims to explore the future of money as economies and payment systems increasingly shift towards digital platforms.

The conference will cover a range of crucial topics such as the status quo and design of the digital euro, legal considerations, CBDC cross-border payments, and the interplay between CBDCs, stablecoins, and CBMTs.

Prominent speakers include Alexandre Stervinou (Banque de France), Miguel Fernández Ordóñez (Former governor of the Bank of Spain), Sonja Davidovic (BIS Innovation Hub), Tao Sun (IMF), Basak Toprak (Onyx by JP Morgan), Kai Leichsenring (Citi Bank), Anikó Szombati (Central Bank of Hungary), Joachim Schwerin (EU Commission) and more representatives from leading financial institutions and regulatory bodies.

The event is geared towards a diverse audience, including bankers, investors, startups, financial organizations, and professionals in law, regulation, and digitization. It offers an opportunity for attendees to gain insights from industry leaders and policymakers at the forefront of digital currency innovation.

The DEA, a think tank specializing in crypto assets, stablecoins, CBDCs, and other forms of digital money, plays a crucial role in fostering knowledge exchange and advancing public understanding in the field of digital money. As a gold member of the DEA, Ripple’s involvement in the conference is a testament to its commitment to shaping the future of digital currencies.

Ripple’s sponsorship of the Digital Euro Conference underscores its strategic positioning within the digital currency landscape. By aligning with key financial players and contributing to pivotal conversations about the future of money, Ripple is cementing its role as a significant influencer in the digital finance world.

Ripple’s contribution to a DEA whitepaper on CBDCs and privacy was highlighted in March 2023. Additionally, Ripple’s involvement in the National Bank of Georgia’s digital Lari pilot project was acknowledged by the DEA in November 2023.

At press time, the XRP price stood at $0.56467.
